Ear Surgeries and an Adenoidectomy

After months (9) of ear infections and Zeke and Eli's little bodies holding onto sicknesses like croup, pneumonia, bronchitis, and high fevers someone finally asked me why I hadn't gotten the boys in to get their ears checked. Well, I've only been a mom for a couple of years and I haven't quite learned everything, yet, but this did make sense since I'd had many complications and surgeries on my ears when I was a small child.

I scheduled a consultation with a pediatric ENT called  Dr Gannon. He explained that we could probably help relieve the sicknesses faster by putting tubes in their ears to help drain the fluids and backed-up gunk.  {He obviously used different words.} We scheduled the surgeries to get tubes in the boys' ears, (Zeke also required a adenoidectomy), and got them done.

It was the best thing we could have done for the boys! After they had their surgeries I realized that they could hardly hear before. They started talking more and repeating everything we said. They responded the first time. It was amazing to me. The boys haven't had any breathing or congestion problems since the tubes were put in and haven't had any of the terrible sicknesses they'd had before. I'm so grateful that after nearly a year of waking up to Eli's gasping and ragged breathing over the baby-monitor we finally found something we could do about it.

Eli was hospitalized because he got severely dehydrated from one of his sicknesses.
I hate that these pictures are stretched but I don't know how to fix them. Both Eli then Z had to use a nebulizer regularly.
Zeke thought it was fun. :)
