To get to Catalina Island this year, the boys and I, (Nick had to work), flew from Alabama to Utah to spend a couple of days, then we drove with the Bastian Family to California and spent the night, then we took a ferry to the island. Then we did it all in reverse on the way home!
One of the highlights of the trip for our family was when we were reunited with Malachi! (My only nephew, the boys only cousin,- lived with us before we moved to Alabama!) The boys got to play together when we watched him for a few hours and it honestly was the best! It makes me sad that these boys ever have to be apart!
Because Zeke and Eli were sleeping in places that weren't familiar to them they kept mistaking night-time for slumber-party-time! We slept in my little brother's room with a twin bed, and these two boys would not sleep unless they were in that twin bed with me! It was very cute, but not very practical. :)
When we eventually made it to Catalina Island Z was an unstoppable exploring machine! He thought everything was amazing! I loved watching him run around from adventure to adventure! The moment we got off the dock he ran to check out the kayaks! (In only his diaper cuz he threw up all over his clothes in the boat.)
Eli spent his time making friends with every single person he met! He's turning into quite the little flirt!
Right now helicopters and tractors are Z's most favorite things in the world, so, of course, when we were leaving he saw this John Deer vehicle and was in heaven!
When the time came for Toyon Bay employees to take it Z just turned on his charm and got to stay with his beloved tractor, made a couple girlfriends, and got a free ride to the front of the loading line! That boy is smooth and he knows it!
Eli also had no problem stealing all the hearts of the cute girls on the island. Watch out world! These boys are going to be trouble!
