CATALINE ISLAND TRIP #2!!!

This was our second year at Catalina Island! Last year we went the week before our wedding, and it was equally as awesome. We are so grateful that Nick's mom's uncle Joe and aunt Linda have invited us to join this brilliant end of summer tradition!

These are the cabin beds we sleep on. After a night of endless readjusting and waking when the other moved Nick and I decided to try to sleep opposite each other with one's head at one end and the other's on the other end. The second night we tried this as I slept, something kept touching my feet so I started kicking whatever it was hard! Finally I awoke to Nick's voice squawking at me to stop. I was embarrassed to realize that I'd been kicking my poor husband in the face and head!
Sorry Nick!

Woo-Hoo! Nick is ready to head out to the Middle east, only I think we'd both be considered cross-dressers...

Alright!!!! Ready to SNORKEL!!!

Aqua Man and his side-kick!!!... who can't swim without a life vest....

-I'm Ready to Go!!!- For some reason the water was freezing this year! The full body suit helped, but honestly it got so cold that when I came back to the beach where everyone was dieing from the heat I was so cold I could hardly move my fingers!

After I froze to death snorkeling I'd had enough of that, and Dani and I decided to follow Nick around in Kayaks. That way we could stay warm in the sun and we could still be with Nick and see all the awesome sea creatures he found for us!

The days were filled with endless adventures, and usually the evenings were, too, but on the fourth night we were there we had a camp-wide talent show and every family present was expected to perform. Our talent was Nick doing back flips off my hands. (I almost killed him!!!)

This is just Nick and me waiting for the talent show to start! He's so cute and I love him!!!

Ok, so NOW Nick's ready to head out to Egypt and Jordan, and I think this time he has the gender roles right, but I don't know if that's such a good thing! ;) He looks scary!

If we weren't hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, exploring and naming newly discovered coves, rock climbing, or sunbathing we were eating! It often felt like we ate more than the rest of the activities combined! More than once when we heard the meal bell cling we turned to each other and said, "again?!" However, the food was always SO SO good, and we ALWAYS ate until we were full, but we usually burned it all off in the next five minutes of an adventure!

Nick and I spent the last evening right before we went to bed walking the dock and the beach. The view, even at night, really is breathtaking, but it's not something you could capture with my camera, so you get to look at cute little us! :)

They have new shirts and hoodies every year with a new Toyon Bay design. (Toyon Bay is the specific Bay we stayed on.) This is the one I got this year! :)

Here's some kayaking in action!

Nick went kayaking, too, after his snorkel-adventures were done!

When Nick was snorkeling, though, he'd cover long distances by latching on to the back of my or Dani's kayak and we'd pull him to his next destination! This was actually surprisingly strenuous! We kept looking back to make sure he was kicking, if he wasn't, we'd holler until he did. :)

Finally, here are the last two shots of each side of the coast we stayed at. The first one is a picture of the right side of our beach area, where we'd sunbath, behind the beautiful cliffs of Looker's Cove. (The cove right above the red water marker.)

The left side of our area was called the Pinnacle. It's as far as kayakers could go, and was also the best spot to find bat rays and garibaldi fish. :) The point was VERY tall. Since I took the picture with the mountain in it it doesn't look very tall, but it was!
